Our Programs

A flag-ship project of the Bahamas Family Planning is its “Baby Can Wait” Programme, which is a structured, support-group type intervention for girls and young women, ages 15 to 24, at risk for juvenile delinquency, premature parenthood and school/job performance failure.

Baby Can Wait Comprehensive Sexuality Programme

The Organisation is now appealing for additional volunteers, especially mothers (both stay-at-home and working) to become trained in the “Good Touch/Bad Touch” curriculum, and commit to teaching one session per week to primary school aged children for eight sessions

“Good Touch/Bad Touch” Curriculum

Bahamas Family Planning maintains that youth have the right to comprehensive sexuality education and youth-friendly services that incorporates concepts of rights, teaches concrete skills to prevent STIs/HIV and unwanted pregnancy, and fosters the ability to make informed and empowered decisions.

Sexual and Reproductive Health Advocacy

"The message from young people is clear - there is no way we can justify a new development framework that does not put young people's issues at the centre of the agenda, including sexual and reproductive health & rights."
